Donut Revolution Project

For this project, we were to create a logo, Instagram tiles, and an app. I really wanted to focus on the simple look for this assignment. My choice of revolution was the American Revolution, so I found a color palette of reds, blues, and the cream color. These colors are used throughout all of the components.

For my logo, I wanted to do a donut with a trifold hat because my original idea was to have Paul Revere sticking out of the top of it. I then processed the donut to actually be him instead. We were also assigned to make an animated version of our logo. I wanted to make the hat lift off and shake to connect to the panic in the story of Paul Revere, “The British are coming.”

My app includes the same colors from the logo and has a very simple concept. I have illustrations within a few of the news pages, but for the most part it is photography from Stock images.

I wanted to have fun with my Instagram tiles and make humor of what seems to be a rough time for those involved. I took paintings and images and added donuts to them to cheer them up from the gloomy looks they already had.
